As people age, they tend to become stiff and move slower. Regular stretching can counter that tendency. These are the stretches that I do on a daily basis to keep from looking like the old guy in the Dryer's ice cream ad’.


You shouldn't stretch cold. Wear a sweat suit and do something to get your heart rate up. I do sit ups or jog.


Heating the whole room as in Bikram yoga is ecologically bad and unnecessary, if you wear a few layers of cloths. That’s why they are called sweat suits.


Stretching (Yoga) should not be competitive. You're not trying to test your limits or be more flexible than someone else. You're just trying to prevent injury. Most experts say to stretch after you exercise.


I find that before you exercise is better. Stretching before and after is best. I am demonstrating many poses. You don't have to do them all, just the ones you enjoy doing. I am showing holding the pose just long enough to describe it.


To fully benefit, hold a pose for at least 30 breaths.
